BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The Market Manager is responsible for driving market growth while providing hands-on leadership to a team of sales associates in their assigned sales market. This role includes leading, coaching, and developing team members to consistently achieve and exceed sales goals. The Market Manager also builds and maintains strong relationships across all levels of client organizations and collaborates with senior leadership to execute business growth strategies. The position focuses on leadership, client satisfaction, and the achievement of strategic business objectives.
PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:
  1. Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales associates, ensuring consistent achievement of sales goals.
  2. Develop and maintain powerful relationships with clients at all levels, exceeding expectations.
  3. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement business growth strategies for the assigned sales market.
  4. Execute a consultative selling approach, demonstrating strong business development and communication skills.
  5. Monitor and assess market trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities and ensure long-term success.
  6. Drive market penetration by planning and executing strategic sales activities.
  7. Consistently meet or exceed the strategic business goals of the region.
  8. Utilize CRM tools to track sales performance and maintain client data.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales leadership role, preferably in a food sales and marketing agency or national food manufacturer.
  • Proven ability to lead a sales team and consistently meet or exceed goals.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and using sales planning processes.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and similar tools.
  • Ability to execute sales plans and adapt to market trends.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on client satisfaction and business growth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and senior leadership.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Work may be performed in an office, warehouse or restaurant environment.
  • Stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.
  • May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of position
  • May require travel up to 40% of the time within territory and overnights may be required
