The Role
The Supply Chain Coordinator – Purchasing & Inventory plays a critical role in CDC Foods’ day to day supply chain execution. This position is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, coordinating inbound supply, and working directly with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure uninterrupted product flow. This is a hands on, execution driven role suited for someone who thrives in a fast paced, detail oriented operational environment and takes ownership of follow through and accuracy. This role is best suited to early-to-mid career supply chain professionals who enjoy hands-on execution and ownership of day-to-day purchasing and inventory coordination.

The Role
The Supply Chain Coordinator – Purchasing & Inventory plays a critical role in CDC Foods’ day to day supply chain execution. What You’ll Be Responsible For
Purchasing & Inventory Coordination
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders based on approved forecasts, inventory targets, and customer demand
- Track open purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, and proactively follow up on delays, shortages, or changes
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess inventory
- Support inventory accuracy through regular reviews, follow ups, and coordination with warehouse teams
S&OP Support & Scenario Analysis
- Support scenario analysis during Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), including demand spikes, supplier delays, and lead time changes
- Assess inventory and sourcing impacts and recommend trade offs to maintain service levels while managing risk and working capital
- Partner with Operations and Logistics to evaluate short term supply constraints and mitigation options
Inventory Health & Optimization
- Identify slow moving, aging, excess, or at risk inventory
- Recommend mitigation actions such as adjusted replenishment, reallocation, promotions, or managed drawdown
- Support data driven decisions related to inventory health, service levels, and cost control
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Continuously identify process improvement opportunities across purchasing, replenishment, and inventory planning
- Analyze data and performance trends to improve accuracy, responsiveness, and execution efficiency
- Maintain disciplined documentation, data integrity, and follow through across purchasing and inventory systems
Cross Functional & Operational Support
- Coordinate inbound shipments with suppliers, warehouses, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate receipt
- Maintain accurate supplier records, purchasing documentation, and inventory data
- Assist with documentation related to product specifications, shelf life, labeling, and food safety requirements
- Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Customer Service, and Finance to support end to end supply execution
Qualifications & Experience
- Post secondary education in supply chain, logistics, operations, business, or a related field
- 2–4 years of hands on experience in a purchasing, supply chain coordination, inventory, or procurement support role
- Direct experience executing and maintaining purchase orders (creation, follow up, confirmations) within an ERP or purchasing system
- Working, practical understanding of inventory replenishment, lead times, and service level impact (execution level, not design ownership)
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, warehouses, and logistics providers to resolve day to day delivery issues and discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail with confidence working with quantities, dates, SKU level data, and documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for operational tracking and reporting (filters, formulas, basic pivot tables)
- Comfortable working in a structured, in office, operations driven environment with daily follow ups and deadlines
Preferred / Strong Assets
- Exposure to S&OP or planning discussions in a support capacity (data preparation, scenario inputs, follow ups)
- Experience reviewing or tracking supplier performance metrics (e.g., on time delivery, fill rates, lead times)
- Experience flagging slow moving, aging, or at risk inventory and supporting mitigation actions
- Background in food distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics environments
