BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The Segment Marketing Specialist owns execution of segment-specific foodservice marketing initiatives across the National Chains, Regional Chains, Street, C-Store, Distributor, On-site, K-12, and Military segments, in partnership with the Segment Marketing Manager. This role independently manages market insights synthesis, sales tool development, customer presentation and communications execution, and segment event execution, ensuring materials and initiatives are accurate, on time, and aligned with segment strategy and brand standards. The Specialist is a key day-to-day point of contact for segment sellers and cross-functional partners.
PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Insights- Gather, synthesize, and report on market insights, competitive intelligence, and industry trends across assigned segments, translating findings into actionable recommendations for the Segment Marketing Manager.
- Conduct in-market visits, ride-withs, and other research activities to inform segment strategy.
- Maintain and continuously improve segment insight files, trend trackers, and supporting research documentation.
- Lead the creation, development, and maintenance of cross-client go-to-market sales tools, sales enablement materials, and culinary/sales training content.
- Own the rollout of new sales tools, gathering and acting on feedback from sales teams to improve usability and effectiveness.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date libraries of segment sales tools and content on SharePoint/AG 360.
- Own the development and execution of customer presentations, ensuring messaging is clear, compelling, brand-consistent, and tailored to segment needs.
- Lead execution of direct-to-operator (DTO) communications, including building and deploying eblasts and AI-driven outreach campaigns end-to-end.
- Track engagement metrics, compile performance reports, and recommend optimizations for direct communications campaigns.
- Lead planning and execution of segment-specific events, including the ANC K-12 Conference and Unipro Conference.
- Manage event logistics end-to-end, including materials, samples, invitations, signage, and presentations for segment events.
- Own post-event recaps, tracking participation and performance metrics, and sharing takeaways with the Segment Marketing Manager.
- Track and report on tool adoption, campaign effectiveness, and segment performance metrics.
- Use data insights to inform recommendations and demonstrate ROI to the Segment Marketing Manager and broader team.
- Ensure all marketing materials and communications comply with legal, ethical, and brand standards.
- Stay current with segment and industry trends and best practices, sharing relevant insights with the team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in foodservice segment marketing, marketing coordination, or related roles.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and deliver results with minimal oversight.
- Experience with direct communications, digital marketing platforms, and analytics.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and marketing technology platforms like Canva.
- Comfort working with data and reporting/analytics tools.
